Béni Mellal-Khénifra
The Water Tower of Morocco
Béni Mellal-Khénifra is the water tower of Morocco. Its Atlas mountains collect the rains that feed the large dams and irrigate the fertile plains of Tadla.
Histoire
The region was the granary of the Moroccan dynasties thanks to the ancestral irrigation of Tadla. The Zayane Berbers fiercely resisted colonization until 1933. Khénifra is the symbol of this resistance.
