Casablanca-Settat
The Economic Lung of Morocco
The leading economic region of the Kingdom, Casablanca-Settat concentrates nearly a third of national wealth. A cosmopolitan metropolis facing the Atlantic, it is home to the largest port in Africa and the legendary Hassan II Mosque.
Histoire
Founded by the Berbers under the name Anfa, the city was destroyed by the Portuguese in the 15th century before being reborn as Casa Branca. The French protectorate made it the economic center of the country, a role it retains today.
