Magnitude 3.3 Earthquake in Meknès
What happened
An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale struck the Fez-Meknès region on the night of Tuesday, December 24, 2025. The tremor occurred at 11:43 PM local time, waking many residents of the region.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the epicenter was located approximately 15 kilometers north of Meknès, in the Draa-Tafilalet region. The shallow tremor was widely felt in the area.
